PARENT-CHILD LESSONS: NOW INCLUDED WITH MEMBERSHIP!

As part of your family membership, parent-child swim lessons are now included at no additional cost. This is a fantastic opportunity to bond with your little one while introducing them to essential water safety and swim basics in a fun and supportive environment. Early lessons help build water confidence, teach safety, and create a strong foundation for lifelong swimming skills. According to the CDC, formal swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by up to 88% in young children, making early instruction an essential step for safety and skill development.

PRESCHOOL & YOUTH LEVELS 1 & 2:

Introduction to Safe Swim:

For all new and beginner swimmers, this level increases comfort in and around the water. Skills include submerging underwater, kicking, basic self-rescue, and basic stroke concepts (freestyle and backstroke performed with assistance), front and back float.

YOUTH LEVELS 3 & 4:

Swim Stamina and Stroke Development:

This level is ideal for swimmers who can swim but are looking to refine their technique. Students should already be comfortable swimming freestyle 15 yards (half the pool) without assistance. This level focuses on intermediate self-rescue skills, refining freestyle and backstroke techniques, treading water, and introducing breaststroke and butterfly. The goal is to prepare students to pass the deep-water test: 25 yards freestyle, 25 yards backstroke, and 1 minute of unassisted treading water.

YOUTH LEVELS 5 & 6:

Swim for Sport:

This level introduces students to competitive swimming. Participants will develop stroke techniques for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly while building endurance and learning swim team skills such as reading the pace clock, following sets, starts, flip turns, and more. It’s ideal for those interested in competitive swimming or refining skills before joining a swim team.

Private Lessons:

Private swim lessons can be arranged at the convenience of the individual and instructor. Price includes 5, 30-minute classes. Upon payment and registration, the Aquatics Department will contact participants directly for more information to schedule a time.
COST:
$90 -  Members
$150 - Potential Members
